Human trafficking is modern day slavery. Humans are trafficked throughout the world on a regular basis for many reasons; sexual exploitation, forced labor and domestic servitude. People are benefiting off their use of people, the reason this “business” is so lucrative is because unlike drugs and money humans can be re-used and therefore are a lot more profitable in the long run. Trafficking victims undergo extreme physical, verbal and emotional abuse and are trained to never seek help or tell people of their situation. They are threatened with both being killed and with the their families in their home countries being killed if they ever try escaping.

Challenge: Pray and fast this weekend since it is the Salvation Army’s International Weekend of Prayer for Victims of Human Trafficking. Pray that the issues causing the demand for humans to be trafficked and sexually exploited be addressed and overcome by our society and humanity at large.
